Alex Padilla, now an Iowa Hawkeye, Ty Evans, a member of the North Carolina State Wolfpack, and newly committed Orlando Westbrook-Sanchez III, a South Dakota School of Mines Miner have all been honored by the National Football Foundation (NFF). The three phenomenal athletes have been named to the All-Colorado Scholar-Athlete Team for their outstanding efforts on the field and in the classroom during the 2018-19 football season.

The NFF is an organization that uses the power of amateur football to develop scholarships for athletic achievement in young athletes. The NFF honors athletes across the nation for their academic and athletic achievements throughout their high school and college careers. By being chosen for the All-Colorado Scholar-Athlete Team, Padilla, Evans, and Westbrook-Sanchez III are considered the best and brightest in the state of Colorado by the NFF.
Throughout his senior season, Alex Padilla completed 163 passes for 1,900 yards and 24 touchdowns while also helping his team make it to the Colorado 5A State Title game. While Alex continued to be successful on the field throughout his entire time at Cherry Creek High School, that success also carried into the classroom. Alex finished his high school career a semester early and had an overall GPA of 3.67. Padilla is now in Iowa City, Iowa where he is a quarterback for the Iowa Hawkeyes!

Ty Evans, a three-time Colorado 3A State Champion threw for 2,665 yards, 33 touchdowns and completed 176 passes. During his high school career, Evans was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Colorado and was ranked the #2 overall quarterback in the nation for the class of 2019. Evans also early enrolled to join the NC State Wolfpack for spring football and to begin college courses. Evans completed his high school career with a GPA of 3.14.

Westbrook-Sanchez III and the Harrison Panthers finished the 2018-19 season with the best record in program history, a stunning 11-1. Orlando completed 140 passes for 2,336 yard and 18 touchdowns. Westbrook-Sanchez III has also received a spot on the Colorado 1st Team All-Conference twice. Orlando also received a Colorado 1st Team All-Academic award twice for having a 3.90 GPA. Orlando is finishing out his senior year in Colorado Spings and will enroll at South Dakota School of Mines in August.

Alex Padilla, Ty Evans, and Orlando Westbrook-Sanchez III are phenomenal examples for the All-Colorado Scholar-Athlete Team that the NFF looks for.
