Cincinnati Bengals Passing Plays

Football Talk Friday #30 - Pepper Shoot X Bench

Share Now!

We are back for Football Talk Friday #30! Today we are breaking down Pepper Shoot X Bench, which is a great PSL down field play in the money zone.

With Twins Left Back Close Gun Scat Left Pepper Shoot X Bench we are stressing the defense in both 2 shell and 3 shell looks. With it being a PSL play the Quarterback will first identify whether it is a 2 shell, meaning middle of the field is open, or it is a 3 shell, meaning the middle of the field is closed.

Against 2 shell the Quarterback will work from the bench to the wide. Against a 3 shell look the quarterback will work from the shoulder 8 to the pepper, and over to the shoot.

We are going to watch Andy Dalton deliver a game winning 13 yard touchdown to AJ Green on the backside bench route!
