We are back for Football Talk Friday #28! Today we are breaking down Z Push 3, which is a great pure progression down field play.
With Triple Right Close Zip OP Pass Left Force Z Push 3 being a Run Action play, Quarterbacks will first start by taking an inside zone 7 or 8 hitch drop. If you want to learn how to execute this drop CLICK HERE to see the video on our Online Academy. From there Quarterbacks will immediately take their eyes to the Z receiver running the Push 3 route. If the Push 3 is not there, Quarterbacks will reset and look to the Shin 6, before checking down to their H on the Sneak route.
We are going to watch Kirk Cousins deliver an incredible level 2 layer shot to the Z Push 3 Route and hit Adam Thielen for an 18 yard gain!
