Delta CO,

“He is a real committed kid and you can tell that because he drives almost five hours to get training, for him to be so driven and commit an entire weekend to us shows the dedication he has for this game. He deserves everything that is happening on the field for him right now.” – Tim Jenkins

That is Nolan Bynum. The sophomore quarterback who recently was featured in Colorado Preps 2A Football Week 7 Preview dominated two weeks ago in a coming out game against Aspen High School after missing two straight games from an injury. Bynum led the Panthers to a 49-40 shootout over Aspen while throwing for 287 yards and three touchdowns. With Bynum back on the field, it also opened the Panthers running game as they totaled 339 yards and four touchdowns.

“When Nolan first started training with us from the beginning I could tell he has a lot of potential, he had a big arm and he could run around. He was an athlete playing quarterback but he is to the point now in his training where he is truly a passer and you are starting to see that not only in his performance but what they are starting to call on the field, and what Delta has done with their offense is different from what it was last year.” – Tim Jenkins

Last week, unfortunately, Delta stumbled against a very dominate Rifle team who is 6-0 on the year. With a bitter taste in his mouth, Bynum is eying this weeks opponent Basalt. You can bet he is looking to get the Panthers back on track. Basalt is coming into this game on a 6 game winning streak, another great test for Nolan and the team.
