This Week’s Breakdown

5A: GOTW: Arvada West (4-0) at Eaglecrest (4-0)

    1. West is coming into this one still on a roll after a gigantic 40-0 win over wheat ridge last week. Chris McEahern has 10 TD’s on the season and he doesn’t seem to be slowing down. The Wildcats are looking dangerous.
    1. Eaglecrest has risen to the top this year as well, even amid all of the chaos. Coach Looney is keeping the ship afloat and Senior QB Dylan James is at the helm with 10 rushing TDs and 3 passing. The Raptors might just surprise people in this one.
    2. Location & Time: Friday, 7 pm at Legacy Stadium

5A: Grandview (4-0) at Mullen (3-1)

    1. The 4-0 wolves are looking strong this year, led by senior RB Jordan Billingsly, who has 6 Td’s on the year. Coach Schultz is on his way to another playoff birth, but he will have to get past the Mustangs first.
    2. Mullen comes into the game sitting at 3-1 and they are hungry for another win. Damien Cearns is carrying the load this year for the Mustangs, and he is looking to add on some more TD’s to his stat column this week.
    3. Location & Time: Friday, 7 pm at Mullen HS

5A: Lakewood Tigers (3-1) at Cherokee Trail (4-0)

    1. The Tigers are having a quite impressive year. Off to a 3-1 start and led by Senior QB Pierce Holley, who has over 1,000 yards through the air and 12 TD’s on the year. Lookout for the Tigers to make a run in the playoffs this year.
    2. Cherokee Trail is looking better than ever this year. Coach Johnson has these boys off to a hot start and sitting pretty at 4-0. Senior QB Grant Ciccarone has 10 TD’s on the year and is looking to add a few more and a W in the win column this week.
    3. Location and Time: Saturday, 6 pm at Legacy Stadium

3A/4A: Palisade (3-0) at Montrose (3-0)

    1. Palisade is always a team that we have to talk about. Great coaching, great players, and they always seem to be at the top every year. They are making a jump up to 4a for this weeks game against Montrose but coach Ramunno will have this team ready to go.
    2. The Indians are looking sharp in 2018. Coach Mertens is looking to continue there campaign this week against the 3a Bulldogs. Should be a good one.
    3. Location and Time: Friday, 7 pm at Montrose HS

4A: Broomfield (2-1) at Monarch (1-2)

    1. Senior QB Steven Croell is aking a strong case for the Eagles this year. They are sitting at 2-1 and a dangerous contender as we look down the stretch. Don’t be surprised when Broomfield shows up late in the playoffs this year.
    2. On the flipside of this matchup sits 1-2 Monarch. The Coyotes are hungry for their second win and they will look to Sophmore QB Kyle Gordon to supply them with some points this week. Side note, someone please fix this kids name on MaxPreps.
    3. Location and Time: Friday, 7 pm at Centaurus HS

3A: Pueblo East (3-1) at Discovery Canyon (4-0)

    1. Pueblo East is coming off a tough loss against hometown rivals Pueblo west. That means watch out, these guys are going to be playing angry this week. Senior QB Luc Andrada will be looking to rain down TD’s this week so stay tuned to his stat line.
    2. After taking down perennial powerhouse Holy Family, the Thunder are looking strong. Not only that, they are 4-0 and Senior RB Ryan Monteleone is looking to add a few more TD’s to his 4 total rushing on the season.
    3. Location and Time: Thursday, 7 pm at D-20

3A: Longmont (2-1) at Skyline (3-0)

    1. Longmont comes into this one looking to continue their campaign after last weeks 40-20 win against Greeley Central. Look to Oakley Dehning to sling to rock this week and add on to his 7 TD’s.
    2. Why is no-one talking about Skyline? These dudes are looking like the Cherry Creek of 3a, and after absolutely handling a good Brighton team I’m not sure anyone is going to slow them down. Sophomore QB Chase Silva is looking very polished and I would look to him to start to carry more responsibility on the field moving forward.
    3. Location and Time: Friday, 7 pm at Everly-Montgomery Stadium

6-Man: Stratton/Liberty Knighted Eagles (3-0) at Otis Bulldogs (3-0)

    1. Every Heard of Stratton Liberty? No? Well get acquainted. They are ranked 45 nationally for… 6man football. Should be a good watch.
    2. Heres another team to get on your radar in the 6man football division, Otis. They are 160th in the nation and both teams are coming into this one undefeated. Whoever wins will be the undisputed best team in CO.
    3. Location and Time: Friday, 7:30 pm at Otis HS.
