This Week’s Breakdown

5A: GOTW: Eaglecrest (5-0) at Grandview (5-0)
    1. Eaglecrest is on a hot streak. One that most people would not have foreseen coming into the year, but the Raptors have proven everyone wrong this year. They are coming into the week at 5-0 and senior RB and QB hybrid Dylan James is looking to add to his already impressive 13 rushing TD’s.
    2. Grandview is another team on a roll this year, also sitting at 5-0. The Wolves are looking strong and with an impressive 56-3 win over Mullen last week, I’m not sure if anyone can slow these guys down until they meet Cherry Creek in the last game of the season.
    3. Location & Time: Friday, 7 pm at Legacy Stadium or watch it live HERE

5A: Cherokee Trail (5-0) at Arapahoe (4-1)
    1. Joe Johnson and the Cherokee Trail Cougars are looking polished. Off to a 5-0 season and led by Senior QB Grant Ciccarone and Senior RB Malik Sparrow, these guys won’t be tripped up easily. Ciccarone and Sparrow have accounted for 21 TD’s between them, impressive stuff.
    2. Arapahoe is back to looking like their old selves again. 4-1 to start the season and coming off a strong win against Douglas County, a 52-6 affair, they should give CT a good game. Unfortunately, coach Rod Sherman hasn’t been updated his player’s stats so it is hard to say who the stars on the Warriors team are, but if I had to bet Senior QB Kevin Lukasiewicz is having himself a strong year.
    3. Location & Time: Friday, 7 pm at LPS Stadium

4A: Montrose (4-0) at Fruita Monument (3-1)
    1. Montrose is sitting at 4-0 coming into the week and the Indians are looking good. Head coach Bret Mertens has strung together some tough wins this season, and after holding off a very good Palisade team these guys have proven they are the real deal.
    2. Fruita is a dangerous team sitting at 3-1. The Wildcats have taken down a good Chatfield team and their only loss was a tight game against Grand Junction Central. Fruita is going to look to Senior RB Cason Gisner to carry the load Thursday night.
    3. Location and Time: Thursday, 7 pm at Stocker Stadium

3A: Skyline (3-1) at Holy Family (3-1)
    1. Skyline is eager to get back on their winning streak this week. After coming off a close 42-34 shootout against Longmont, the Falcons are hungry to get back on top. Senior RB Jeremy Hollingsworth and Sophomore QB Chase Silva will be the ones to watch this week.
    2. 3-1 Holy Family is looking to add another win to their belt this week after bouncing back last week in a 49-39 offensive bonanza against Roosevelt. They will be looking to Junior QB Calahan Carter to lead them through the air this week.
    3. Location and Time: Friday, 7 pm at Holy Family High School

5A: Denver East (4-1) at Westminster (4-1)
    1. Denver East comes into this match-up at 4-1 with their only loss coming to a very strong Columbine team. The Angels are going to look to Senior QB Myles Patterson to continue to light it up through the air.
    2. Westminister is looking to advance to 5-1 this week on the backs of Senior RB Tanner Sisco and Junior QB Romeo Rodriguez. The Wolves are coming off two very strong weeks, outscoring their opponents 82-6.
    3. Location and Time: Friday, 7 pm at Adams 50 Stadium

5A: Ralston Valley (4-1) at Arvada West (4-1)
    1. Ralston Valley is back on track after last weeks 49-0 blowout against Fossil Ridge. The Mustangs are led by Senior RB Brad Roberts who has amassed 7 TD’s on the ground so far in 2018.
    2. Arvada West is going to come into this one with some extra fire. Quick history lesson between these two teams. Since Ralston Valley’s existence, Arvada West has not been able to beat them once. Senior WR Chris McEahern is going to have the boys ready this week, look for him to add to his 11 receiving TD’s.
    3. Location and Time: Thursday, 7 pm at Arvada West High School
