Job Title: Junior Coach

FLSA Status: Non – Exempt (Hourly)

Department: Football

Pay Type: Hourly

Position Summary: Responsible for learning and assisting in all aspects of training and coaching your position group.

Season: Spring, Summer, or Fall Semester (3 Months)

Position Responsibilities

Strategy:

  • Within the structure of the program, prepare, and deliver a high-quality training program aimed at achieving the athlete’s goals.
  • Have open two-way communication between athletes, parents and guardians, and coaches, on the progress of the athlete and the goals that have been set.
  • Advise the athlete on camp schedules, pre-season preparation, and benchmarks for optimizing and measuring performance.
  • Gain and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the instructional equipment and methodologies incorporated into the Jenkins Elite program.
  • Interact with the athletes as a mentor and as an educator of their sport and life.
  • Continually assess the skill and emotional development of each client, and liaise with the program management to ensure all internal and external partners are utilized to support athletes ongoing comprehensive development
  • Act as an advocate communicating with the athlete, parent or guardian, and coach in their overall development.
  • Assist in the college placement of the athlete as required
  • Work closely with all members of the team to continually review program structure, content, delivery, objectives, and resources, making recommendations where changes could improve quality or opportunities to grow the business.
  • Support recruiting and retention initiatives aimed at current and prospective athletes as required.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High standard of proficiency in training, and instructional techniques.
  • Strong commitment to clientele
  • Professional and/or collegiate playing or coaching experience
  • Passion for developing athletes on and off the field
  • Ability and desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • A superior work ethic

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of latest trends in training methodologies and technologies
  • Understanding of college recruiting processes, rules, and current trends
  • CPR Certification

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift, move, push, and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40 pounds
  • Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time
  • Must be able to move around all facilities which include, gym, turf, fields, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays is required
  • Ability to travel nationally for camps, clinics, and events
